Heritage Dwelling 02

The redevelopment project is set within a high-value historical context, where the primary objective was to achieve a formal synthesis between the weight of heritage and the demands of contemporary living. The design establishes a virtuous dialogue between historical layers and new material languages. Consequently, the expansive spatiality of the vaults underwent meticulous material and chromatic restoration, complemented by the strategic integration of lighting fixtures. The original flooring has been reclaimed and regenerated, preserving its role as the tactile memory of the space, while the custom furnishings strike a balance between linearity and elegance.

SYNTHESIZING HISTORY AND CONTEMPORARY LANGUAGE

The most innovative feature is the bespoke wood panelling system, crafted from noble timber species. These elements transcend a purely decorative role to function as architectural devices: they conceal living and technical compartments, integrate apertures, and define new spatial topographies. The interior design features high-end furnishings selected for their material consistency and formal iconicity, which anchor the spaces without overwhelming them, respecting the original volumetric proportions. Beneath the archway, the kitchen and pantry unit integrate state-of-the-art technologies within a minimalist framework. The use of stonework and lacquered finishes creates a sophisticated contrast with the warmth of the timber throughout the residence. The bedrooms have been reimagined as private suites, where privacy and acoustic comfort are ensured by a revised spatial distribution. The bathrooms feature high-profile finishes and custom-made solutions, such as polychrome marble inlays, transforming service areas into spaces of sensory relaxation. Expansive glazed floor sections provide the opportunity to vertically expand the spaces, creating a visual link to art installations on the level below.

The final outcome is a residence of absolute prestige, where historical architecture is not a constraint but a solid foundation upon which to graft an idea of understated luxury, rooted in the quality of detail and the honesty of materials.
